By Marc Lamont Hill
Progressive politics is often seen as the champion of human rights and social justice. But when it comes to Palestine, progressives have been largely silent. This silence is deafening, and it exposes the hypocrisy of progressive politics.
In his new book, Except for Palestine, Marc Lamont Hill argues that the progressive movement has failed to live up to its own ideals when it comes to Palestine. He shows how progressives have often turned a blind eye to the human rights abuses committed against Palestinians, and have even supported policies that have made the situation worse.
Hill's book is a powerful indictment of the progressive movement. He shows how the movement's silence on Palestine is not only a moral failure, but also a strategic one. By ignoring Palestine, progressives have allowed the right wing to dominate the narrative on this issue, and have made it more difficult to build a just and lasting peace.
Except for Palestine is a must-read for anyone who cares about human rights and social justice. It is a book that will challenge your assumptions and make you rethink the limits of progressive politics.
