By John Hoberman

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is the international organization responsible for the coordination of the fight against doping in sport. It was established in 1999 and is based in Montreal, Canada. WADA's mission is to promote and coordinate the fight against doping in sport in all its forms. It does this by developing and implementing anti-doping policies and regulations, conducting research, and providing education and training to athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.

WADA has been criticized for a number of reasons, including its lack of transparency, its reliance on unreliable testing methods, and its harsh and unfair sanctions. Some critics have even argued that WADA is more interested in protecting the reputations of sports organizations than in actually fighting doping.

This book challenges the legitimacy of WADA, arguing that its policies and practices are deeply flawed and counterproductive. The book draws on a wealth of research to expose the many problems with WADA, including its:

  • Lack of transparency
  • Reliance on unreliable testing methods
  • Harsh and unfair sanctions
  • Misguided focus on drug testing

The book also argues that WADA's focus on drug testing is misguided, and that it does little to address the root causes of doping in sport. The book concludes by calling for a fundamental reform of WADA, and for a new approach to anti-doping that is based on evidence and reason.
