One of those hostages was John Limbert, a young American diplomat who had been serving in Iran for over a decade. Limbert was a fluent Farsi speaker and had developed close relationships with many Iranians. He was also a committed Christian, and he believed that he could use his faith to bridge the gap between the two cultures.
But when the revolution broke out, Limbert's world was turned upside down. He was taken hostage along with his colleagues, and he was subjected to months of psychological and physical abuse. He was interrogated, threatened, and beaten. But through it all, Limbert refused to give up hope.
In this gripping true story, Limbert recounts his harrowing experience as a hostage in Iran. He describes the daily indignities and humiliations that he endured, as well as the moments of hope and resilience that kept him going. He also provides a unique insider's perspective on the Iranian Revolution, and the complex political and cultural forces that led to the hostage crisis.
An American Entrapped By The Iranian Revolution is a powerful and moving account of one man's experience as a hostage. It is a story of courage, faith, and resilience. It is also a story that sheds light on one of the most tumultuous and consequential events in recent history.
